Wave & Win with Pip

03 Sep 2013

Hopefully the majority of us will have had a break this summer, even if it was only a few days away from the daily grind.

However, one particular employee has been working hard all through the holiday period at Portsmouth International Port to make sure families had the best possible start to their much needed breaks.

Pip the Whale, the Port’s cuddly mascot, has spent the last six weeks meeting and greeting families as they arrive in the terminal to head off on holiday to France and Spain. The proof of Pip’s hard work is in the fabulous photos that families have had taken in front of a beautiful azure sea screen alongside the cuddly whale.

Photos have been posted on the Port’s Facebook page, and they have also been displayed on the big screen in the terminal throughout the busy summer holiday period. Every family or group who had their picture taken was entered into a competition to win one of two free return ferry crossings to France, kindly supplied by Brittany Ferries and DFDS Seaways.

The panel of judges had a hard job choosing, especially since every picture featured families and children having so much fun at the start of their holiday. Eventually though two winners were chosen, and as you can see from their pictures, they are sure to enjoy having another chance to travel again from Portsmouth International Port.

The winners pictured here are the Hall family from Berkshire and the Brake family from Dorset all enjoying their pre-departure photo with Pip the whale.
